Mind Your BBQs
Barbecues don’t have inherently bad food– it’s the quality of meat, and the way some people cook the food that makes a meal unhealthy. A beef burger can be a relatively okay meal, but when it’s saturated with butter and slathered in cheese calories, fat content, and sodium levels shoot up. Top your burgers with fresh veggies, or even have your burger green-style instead. Opt for grilled chicken. Skip the hot dog.
Don’t be Fooled by Frozen Yogurt
For a while, food chains liked to pretend that frozen yogurt was the healthier cousin of ice cream, but that is not the case. Frozen yogurt often has buckets of added sugar and can be higher in calories than ice cream. If you are looking for a protein-packed snack, stick to the un-frozen alternative. If you’re looking for a smooth, cold, and creamy treat, ice cream may be the better choice, just keep portion size in mind.
Keep up with your exercise!
Once you achieve your weight loss goal, it may be tempting to quit exercise for good. Do not give in to that temptation! With great drinks and food around every corner, you will easily re-gain the weight you’ve lost. Incorporate your exercise into your favorite summer activities– do laps in the pool, go for a run on the beach, just keep the blood flowing to burn some calories.
